Every Verisart certificate is a permanent digital record for a physical artwork or collectible. Each certificate is linked to a detailed provenance record and stored on the blockchain. Certificates can also be printed for your records and easily shared with others to prove ownership or verify provenance. Verisart certificates are used by leading artists, galleries and auction houses.
You can create two types of certificates with Verisart:
- Certificate of Authenticity
The most secure type of certificate which contains the signature of the artwork's creator. Artists and galleries who formally represent artists can create these types of certificates.
- Certificate of Record
A formal declaration of ownership registered on the blockchain. It doesn’t contain the artist’s signature, so it is clearly labelled as a Certificate of Record. Collectors and others who want to document their artwork and capture provenance information can create these types of certificates.
To use the system correctly, it’s important to use the right type of certificate. Read more.
